ROAD TRAFFIC ACT AXLE WEIGHING COMPLIANCE

NOTICE OF IMMINENT LAUNCH SASCO IS PIONEERING DEVELOPMENT OF NEW GENERATION WEIGH IN MOTION SYSTEMS THAT PROVIDE FOR RTA COMPLIANCE

The Road Traffic Act 22nd Amendment requiring, compliance with the RTA axle overloading regulations, has left transporters and consignors looking for practical cost-effective weighing solutions to meet these regulations, and in doing so also ensuring their insurance cover remains valid.

For those Consignors that already have weighbridges, the most cost-effective and reliable solution remains the upgrade to Bilanciai instrumentation, which enables a standard weighbridge to generate axle weighing data. Add to this ProWeigh software, and the result is a fully compliant system which can also seamlessly integrate with in-house data systems. This solution solves both the Consignor and Transporter’s compliance challenge.

So - what is the optimal solution for a Consignor and Transporter that does not require trade weighing's (“Non-Trade Weigher”) and has therefore never needed a weighbridge?

Non-Trade Weigher's simply want a solution that leaves them fully compliant with the RTA and satisfies the needs of their insurers. If that solution can also provide weighing data directly into their information systems as well, then even better.

The optimal solution is plainly not a 22m multi-deck, which takes up over 70 sqm of space, requires a substantial CAPEX investment and ongoing verification costs.

The solution is a Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) system, costing a fraction of the price of a multi-deck, providing the same axle weighing data as a multi-deck and uses no more than 3 sqm of ground space, 5% of a multi-deck weighbridge.

WB 150T Wimbridge - requires 5% of the space of a multi-deck.

The Sasco Wimbridge requires comparatively little space and therefore can be installed at sites where there are space constraints. Set up software options allow for operations to be either manned or completely unmanned and can include or exclude standard automation devices such as booms and cameras. The most significant functionality is, however, the option of fully integrating, via the Sasco Cloud all weighing data generated, from one or more units, to Consignor or Transporter ERP systems. This functionality provides the potential for better in transit stock data and greater control over in transit stock losses.
